Textile & Apparel Industry initiative within the wider RECONOMY program.

Reconomy is an inclusive and green economic development program operating in 11 countries across the Eastern Partnership and the Western Balkans. Funded by Sweden and implemented by Helvetas, the program aims to reconnect, revitalize and transform economies, ensuring that the benefits of the development are accessible to everyone.  

The main objectives include enabling women, young people and disadvantaged groups to access better income opportunities and decent “green” jobs. Strengthening market ecosystems by removing regulatory barriers and improving collaboration between the private sector, educational institutions, and the public sector. Creating economic opportunities that simultaneously deliver environmental values is also the goal of the project. 

The Reconomy program promotes the transition from linear processes to sustainable, circular economy in the textile industry by developing the green skills of local producers. In the tourism sector, it creates cross-border experiences and digital visibility, while in the construction industry, it supports the spread of energy-efficient solutions through professional training and awareness-raising. In the ICT and logistics sectors, the region’s global competitiveness is strengthened through talent development, digitalization, and modern vocational training partnership, such as the collaboration with the Volvo Group.
