The goal of this project is to reshape urban mobility, reduce car dependence, and promote more sustainable ways of moving within cities. The initiative is built on the ‘15-minute city’ concept, where essential services are reachable within a 15-minute walk or cycle ride from home. By concentrating on the first and last mile of travel, micro-mobility solutions are being integrated such as shared bicycle services, e-scooters and smart logistics.
The project uses innovative tools and collaborative approaches to develop practical mobility solutions. One of the key outputs is a GIS-based Micro-Mobility Decision-Support Tool (MDST), which is designed to help urban planners make decisions about mobility infrastructure and services. Strong cooperation among cities, industry partners, and cities allowed the establishment of living labs in different urban environments. These living labs, located in Germany, Greece, Romania and Turkey help partners refine and ensure micro-mobility solutions by how they respond to local challenges and urban contexts.
By developing scalable and adaptable mobility solutions, PROMISE aims to reduce traffic congestion, enhance accessibility, and quality of life in cities. Ultimately, the project seeks to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient urban mobility system across Europe.
